Receiving From God So some of you may ask what exactly does receiving from God mean? Does it mean he is planning to physically put something in your hand? (it could, anything is possible with God!) Blessed be the Lord, Who DAILY loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! (Psalms 68:19) So we are loaded? with benefits? We are so fortunate. It is possible to receive everything we need from our God. Its really an incredible thing as we are able to do this without even seeing or knowing he is doing anything. We are sort of like a receiving station.. God is the Satelite and we are the receiver! All we have to do is just relax and receive! We do not have to go to college or to a special private school to learn how to hook up. We come equipped with all we need.. Another amazing thing happens; you are being filled with love, joy, peace, and whatever it is you need. If there are other things you need you learn to ask and wait. ASK... Believe... RECEIVE Many blessings come when we are receiving from God. God loves giving to you. Matthew 7:11 (NKJV) If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! God has promised to be our source of blessing and wealth. Psalm 112:1,3 (NKJV) Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who delights greatly in His commandments. Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever. God is the Source of every gift you receive. James 1:17 (NKJV) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. 1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. Maybe you are wondering well this is all sounds good but how do I go about doing this. I personally wondered the same thing. After a long time of research, Ha ha, I was able to understand it a little better. We think we are doing the research but little do we know the Holy Spirit is putting things in front of us to help us a long the way. He knows our thoughts and is able to give us the things we need. Maybe a book, or a movie, or maybe someone with the information you are looking for just sorta shows up. Or maybe you are in church and you are amazed as the Minister is talking about exactly what you had been thinking about.. Pretty amazing how that works huh. I love how you can be reading a magazine or watching a tv show and somehow, someway, your questions get answered.. Well its not a coincidence.. There is a reason it is happening. By putting your thoughts out there.. shows there is a need for an answer. You can read more on my site about our thoughts and just how important they are. Just know that if you allow God to come into your life, and learn more of his word, you are setting yourself up to receiving an abundance of LIFE. There are different ways to receive from our Father. I beleive it is a personal thing for everyone. To Begin you may want to pray. Pray as if there is someone standing next to you. Have a normal conversation as if you are talking to a friend (you are). Let him know just how important he is in your life, and how grateful you are for the things you have. You can do this in your car or maybe you want to be in your home. Some people have a place they call their secret place where they feel they can meet and talk with him more privately. Learn to ask for the things you are needing. He already knows what they are but loves that you are asking. Then just say I receive your blessings and the things you want to give me. Give thanks, and believe that if it is his will, you will receive them. Once you get used to doing this, you can learn to meditate on his word and just also lay and be still. Literally lay there with some music (or not) and just think on Jesus. He will fill you with all you need. The Holy Spirit showed me one day what he meant by He Leadeth me beside the still waters. Psalm 23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. Sorta made me laugh when I realized what it meant. I am a talker. I thought when you prayed you had to talk. Well, sometimes we are to be still. This is the time we are to be quiet, receive and be led by the still waters. I have found that once start to do this your day goes better, your week goes better, your year and your life. Its pretty nice having someone other than yourself to rely on. Remember he is the Alpha and the Omega. He knows the end from the beginning.. Why wouldnt you let him lead. You dont have to work at it if you allow him to lead you. Its when we try to do it ourselves that messes everything up.
