Recently, Face2Face Africa profiled former attorney Wale Oyejide who is the man behind the Ikire Jones menswear line. This week, business partner and architect Lekan Jeyifo spoke with us about his new line of scarfs, debuting under the name Village 2081 A.D., with Oyejide. Face2Face Africa reports: Village 2081 A.D. takes the exploration of African fashion to another level. Now with a collaboration with Cornell University-trained architect-turned-artist Lekan Jeyifo, the project’s centerpiece is an illustrated scene of a futuristic African village printed on a luxury 70 percent wool, 30 percent silk blend scarf. The alliance is the epitome of iconic fashion turned on its head and continues Oyejide’s West Africa-meets-Brooklyn style.
