Recently I had an upset customer in my business. I was referred to this customer by another person that I actually like, friend of the family. I was polite to this customer and did everything I possibly could to accommodate them. However the job fell through and I was worried that if the family friend found out that maybe she wouldnt refer anyone else to me. As a business owner I have brain fights...half my brain is chanting the customer is always right and my other half is chanting hell no go stick that up your... Anywho. I explained my problem with my therapist (my mom) and she said something that really stuck with me. If you are always who you are in life and in business, aka have integrity, honesty, gratitude, appreciation for the work you do...Basically if people KNOW you..really KNOW who you are, they will always give you the benefit of the doubt! Bam!! In that moment I felt a lot better, seems so simple and duh but it was a light bulb for me. There is always gonna be a nay sayer, a dream crusher, an upset customer, a you never do anything right person in your life, or your business. But let your Character speak for you! When you own your own business youre a hustler. Youre willing to do whatever it takes to get the job or the sale. I just so happen to clean toilets and go to the dump :D I have learned just this week the importance of saying Thanks but no thanks Dont bend your CHARACTER or your integrity for a job. Its just a job. Another will come around. Ok. Thanks for tuning in!
