Recently I posted a meme about a Biblical story along with a theory I had about a possible contradiction in the story, and the discussion did not go AT ALL the way I hoped it would. Look, when I posted that meme, I was not looking for a discussion on the truth or falsehood of the Biblical story. I no longer believe it to be true, as I am now a pagan which I stressed at the beginning of my post. I just wanted to get peoples thoughts on my theory. Why is it that people can discuss Why did Frodo not just take a giant eagle and drop the ring into Mt. Doom? or Did Hamlet really go crazy or was he just acting? If so why? but when people discuss Biblical stories - instead of discussing it as a piece of literature - it inevitably becomes a debate about the validity of the Bible itself rather than the validity of the theory? Sorry, dont mean to rant. I know its mostly my own fault for not stressing what I wanted to discuss when I posted the meme. Opinions?
