Recently in Ohio, U.S. Navy Veteran and terminal breast cancer - TopicsExpress

Recently in Ohio, U.S. Navy Veteran and terminal breast cancer patient Kimberly received her final wish to make memories with her husband and four sons at Walt Disney World. Presenting Kimberly with the details of her dream in a festive Dream Delivery celebration was the compassionate staff of a Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facility, the ambulatory care center where Kimberly receives treatment. It was the first time in Dream Foundations 20-year history that a VA facility hosted such an event for a Dream Foundation family. Dream Foundations first Dream Delivery together with a VA medical center comes just in time for Veterans Day. Held every year on todays date since 1918, Veterans Day marks the end of World War I and honors U.S. veterans and victims of all wars. In the last month alone, Dream Foundation has served the final dreams of 16 U.S. military veterans and their families, including Kimberlys. Dreams for eight veterans are in progress currently. Since our inception in 1994, Dream Foundation has learned the importance of acknowledging those who have served our country, honoring their service, and sharing their personal stories. As such, we are proud to announce our brand new Dreams for Veterans sub-program, which will launch officially in February 2015 and effectively tailor the dream experience to our veteran dream recipients and their families. Dream Foundations commitment to serving veterans is steadfast and strong, today and every day. If we may touch the life of a U.S. military veteran you know at the end of his or her life, please visit dreamfoundation.org. I feel more weak and sick than I ever have, and at 47 this is just frightening. Life is so uncertain. It would mean so much to visit the Happiest place on Earth and to know my children have these fine memories of time spent together. - Dream recipient, Kimberly
