Recently, the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) Tactical Human Optimization, Rapid Rehabilitation and Reconditioning (THOR3) facility demonstrated their unique Wounded Warrior Functional Assessment. This test demonstrates the wounded Soldiers ability to return to full duty status. Pictured in the photos is Green Beret Lt. Col. Robin Pickel. Pickel took the grueling test two days after completing the 2014 Army Ten Miler in Washington, D.C. He finished second overall in the Wounded Warrior category in just over one hour and 19 minutes.
