Recipe for a Successful Life First Ingredient - Salvation Romans 10:9,10 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Nothing lacking, nothing missing, all is complete. Second Ingredient Be filled with the Holy Spirit Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth. Acts. 2:1-4 When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:38,39 Then Peter said to them repent and let each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call. Third Ingredient - Dedication to the Word of God, to read and study. Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Meditate on the Word. Bring it back up and go over and over the Word until you have it in your heart and spirit to stay, so you will be able to call on it when ever you need to. II Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth. Fourth Ingredient - Develop a Life of Prayer I Timothy 2:1-2 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men. For kings and all who are in authority that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverance. We must pray before our God is able to do anything. Prayer is our communication with God. Fifth Ingredient - We must develop an Attitude of Praise Psalm 34:1-4 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. Psalm 147:1 Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. Hebrews 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. Psalm 72:15 and He shall live; and the gold of Sheba will be given to Him. Prayer also will be made for Him continually, and daily shall He be praised. Sixth Ingredient - Be a Doer of the Word that you hear and see. James 1:22-25 But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he is. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the Word, this one will be blessed in what he does. Seventh Ingredient - Walk in Love I Corinthians 3:1-8 Though I speak with the tongue of men and of angels, but I have not Love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy, love does not parade itself, is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinking evil, does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (Love never fails). Eighth Ingredient - Walk in Faith in God and His Word Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Habakkuk 2:4 Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith. Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
