Reduced rail services on Thursday 5th December - Network Rail 40 mph speed restrictions due to expected high winds! This is a precaution by Network Rail Scotland as a result of the severe winds and storms forecast for the morning – with wind speeds of up to 95mph expected. As a result, we will run a reduced number of trains on the most heavily used routes and are working with Network Rail to agree when we can safely resume the normal timetable. This decision will be continually reviewed by the industry as the weather conditions are assessed. Due to the extent of the restrictions, we are advising customers to consider whether their journey is essential. Full details of which routes are running, and the timetable information, will be on our website shortly
