Refugee camps in countries bordering Syria are overflowing — there are now more than 1 million child refugees — and within Syria itself, over 4 million children are affected. The war continues to crush Syria’s infrastructure, disrupting essential services like clean water, health care and education. The country has been struck by first polio outbreak in 14 years, and more than 2 million children are not in school. In Damascus and its outlying districts, power cuts and supply shortages are causing severe hardship for 600,000 people.
