Regarding On-line admission I would like to draw attention of all students, parents, educationists and those people, well connected with education in the State that the news as appeared in a section of media regarding on-line admission in Universities and colleges is contrary to the decision of the State Government. Consequent to a review of the preparedness of the Universities and colleges in this regard, it has been found that there are some systemic deficiencies, including infrastructural constraints, which still need to be addressed before the on-line admission system can be rolled out efficiently across the State. In view of the above, each higher education institution is free to follow the admission procedure of its choice. Those institutions having the requisite infrastructure and desirous of adopting the on-line system, are liberty to do so. Further, it is in all fairness of things, Department has to be take this decision anticipating the kind of difficulties to be faced by the students community and their parents. The rumour that has been circulated by a section of media is far from the truth. We are committed to introduce the on-line system in the Universities and colleges in a time bound manner. Therefore, the University / college authorities are being advised to take necessary measures to start the admission process for UG courses, starting with distribution of admission forms, etc. by June 10, 2014 and complete the admission process expeditiously, as per the respective University’s norms.
