Regarding the article below: I agree … and at the same time Ive given away my CD Twister for free on ReverbNation -and- on Spotify (+ the option of buying the physical album from me of course). So…if youre a big star like T.S. you can probably afford to earn less on CD sales since youll always cash in on merchandize and tickets and will still prosper and still she made the call! It shouldnt be hard to do the math though. If I like a certain type of bread I go to the store and buy it = If I like an artists music and want to show him/her my support and loyalty I pay for the music. Right? The main question in my opinion is: How on earth are musicians/song writers supposed to set aside the time and save up the money needed to write, record and produce music to entertain others if they have to pay for everything and get nothing in return?? 1+1=0 One thing is for sure. Theres a lot of great music that will never be released because of this simple mathematical equation. I would like to emphasize that I am personally VERY thankful for the support Ive gotten from you and that Im not complaining. I just know that for small newcomers like me and many others the chance of getting another album out there is all depending on whether we manage to sell the CDs and save up for the next one.
