Regarding the dirt bike accident on Crain hwy as reported by 1st Alert.... On September 2, 2014, Calvin Ronshaye Savoy, the operator of the dirt bike in this case was pronounced dead at the University of Maryland Medical Center from injuries received in this crash. The investigation into this crash is ongoing and is being handled by the Traffic Safety Section. Here is the initial release by AACoPD On August 31, 2014 at approximately 11:15 p.m., the Anne Arundel County Police Traffic Safety Section responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a dirt bike and vehicle on Crain Highway North and Jackson Ave. Northwest in the Glen Burnie area. The investigation determined that a Yamaha YZ dirt bike was traveling south on Crain Highway approaching Jackson Ave. NW. At the same time a Lexus sedan was traveling north on Crain Highway and making a left turn onto Jackson Ave NW. The dirt bike was operating illegally on the roadway and without any lights. The driver of the Lexus, Vincent Cornelius Gordon 3rd, did not see the dirt bike and made the turn. The dirt bike collided with the passenger side of Lexus. The driver of the dirt bike, Calvin Ronshaye Savoy, along with the rear passenger, Charles William Sheffield, was fully ejected from the dirt bike. The driver sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma and is currently listed in critical condition. The passenger was also injured but sustained non-life threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition. Neither the driver nor the passenger was wearing any protective gear to include a helmet. The driver of the Lexus sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics. The cause of the collision is driver error by the dirt bike driver. The dirt bike is unregistered and the driver is not licensed. Additionally, the driver and passenger were not wearing helmets. The investigation continues.
