Regardless of how you train (powerlifting, bodybuilding, crossfit, general fitness), you HAVE to train hard. You have to constantly be pushing to do more... more reps, another set, less rest, more time under tension, more overall work... pushing hard. I dont know why this is such a difficult concept to explain to people. Sweating is not an indicator, burning muscles is not even an indicator. You should always be striving for more... and the best way to do that is to have strength markers. Not necessarily 1 rep maxes.. but strength MARKERS (70# dumbbells for sets of 6 increases to sets of 10, improving your close grip bench, 225x10 improves to 245x10). If you have no idea, you might want to start paying attention
