Remember Taro? The boy rescued last year with a huge maggot wound on his back? Taro was so ill when rescued, his body was swollen from fluids oozing out into the tissues. Emergency medical treatment had to be instituted; careful nursing, then, a long period of fostering, as the boy was so terrified and timid he will not let any human go near. It took the rehabilitation team and his fosterers months, before he would allow us to touch him. Taro today is still timid towards strangers, but with people he knows, like his fosterer, he is such a sweet, calm boy now! He never barks, he never imposes. All he wants, is a little corner, to call his own, and someone he can trust, to call his best friend. It will take alot of patience, but the rewards after, are amazing. Taro is now ready to go to a permanent home. :) Just typing these words is very emotional, as it has been such a long arduous journey for him, lasting almost a year.
