Remember a couple years ago when Creative Santa Fe was surveying all of us to explore the idea of an artist affordable housing project? Well... here it is, the results, right in front of us and going to council at the end of the month! We have momentum! And Siler Rd. is the perfect area for this project! St. Michaels, sadly, has too many hoops to jump through including purchasing the road from the state. There are a lot of really exciting things happening on Siler already, including a (not-so-secret) project that MW hopes to announce soon. So lets get behind this! Councilor Chris Rivera has introduced a resolution to move forward on this Siler site, and the community believes that this is the right move! Please contact your councilors to show support for this resolution. And also, important to note -- as part of this project, protecting the creativity that is already occurring in the area is key. Project director Daniel Werwath along with Shannon Murphy have made it a top priority to create symbiosis between existing Siler/Rufina creatives while this growth occurs. So exciting. with Mayor Javier Gonzales, Councilor Carmichael Dominguez, Councilor Ronald S. Trujillo, Councilor Peter N Ives, Councilor Signe Lindell, Councilor Patti Bushee, Councilor Joseph Maestas, and Councilor Bill Dimas.
