Remember our Straight Up Students in your prayers. Since the beginning of 2014. The Holy Spirit has been speaking into their lives through the word and by his spirit. As I was praying in 2013 for 2014. The Lord spoke to my heart this was the year we need to focus on your family. Set spiritual goals, take away anything that is distracting you, holding you back from getting close to Jesus. Whats got your focus if its not on Jesus, who should be your main focus. This year you need to make changes. Dad, mom, now is not the time to waver, your family needs you to stand strong now more than ever. Satan is out to kill still and destroy, be the watchman for your household. Stand your ground in Christ Jesus. Remember man looks on the outward but God looks at the heart. Sometimes we can allow ourselves to be so focused on our outward appearance that we arent giving God the time to change what really matters, the heart. When we lose focus its so easy to blame everyone else if things are the way we want it and we start searching for happiness or fulfillment in our lives in the things of this world. Its like Peter when he was on the boat and Jesus was walking on the water to them during a storm. Jesus called for Peter to come to him, now he was aware of the circumstances around him and very aware he was on the water in a boat. But his eyes were fixed on Jesus, he stepped out of the boat. As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, even though the circumstances around him had not changed, he had faith in Jesus, but the very moment he took his eyes off Jesus, he then became aware of his surrounding and began to sink. Even then Jesus reached down and picked him up. We CAN NOT take our eyes off of Jesus, or allow distractions of any kind. This is also the year of accountability. Can I say it is time we are Christ driven and not driven by our flesh. It is time our standards change, our lives are Christ centered, we stop making excuses for how we are and start living how we are suppose to as Children of an Almighty God. God is speaking into the lives of our children calling about change since the first of the year. Things that are hidden in darkness he will reveal in the light. He loves us and knows whats best for us. When we want to hide our sin or actions from others there is one who sees and knows all. He knows are desires and our intentions. He knows our motivations and what motivates us. This year he will begin to bring those hidden things out to make us stronger as Christians if we will allow him too. He wants to put those in our lives that will hold us accountable and stand by us not to judge us but lift us up and watch God bring about change. Sunday night in our youth service as we preached on the first saying of Jesus on the cross. Father Forgive Them For They Know Not What They Do The Holy Spirit began to speak. If you find that your child is gradually changing, acting a little different. Give glory where glory is do, thank our Heavenly Father for speaking into their lives. Let God arise in your homes, push back the stronghold of the enemy. STAND FIRM in your faith, do not waiver. Now is not the time. This year lets be accountable for ourselves and believe God for a strong family, centered on Christ. Jesus has to be at the center of our family. I Love Each and Every one of you. P.S.
