Remember that toddler who had his face severely burned when a flash bang grenade, launched by a SWAT team during the course of a no-knock warrant, landed in his portable crib and detonated on his pillow? Despite the fact that the baby had to be hospitalized for weeks, that the grenade was developed for combat use to temporarily blind and deafen ones enemies, that the SWAT team was carrying out a relatively routine search warrant that did not justify such tactics, and this was not the first time a child has been severely wounded or killed by a SWAT team raid gone awry, government officials have refused to pay the familys medical expenses. The Rutherford Institute has offered its assistance to the familys attorney.
