Remember the tree I have often referred to here at home. The photo on the left was taken only a few minutes ago and the photo on the right is what the tree looks like during the middle of Spring. Many of you many wonder what is so special about this particular tree as it may appear like just another tree. Id like to share the symbolism and significance that it has to me: 1 LIFE: It stands and has stood vulnerable and exposed to the harsh elements (sun, rain, hail, winds etc) for the last 16 years and yet it remains firm and grounded. Although, when this tree was first planted, its trunk was only a few millimetres wide-if that and it needed to be straightened (through gentle coaxing and tender care-via Casino, as it was starting to lean to one side). Each day for a period of time he would tend to the tiny trunk. Now it is straight and has remained this way through many seasons. We too face challenges and trials on a daily basis and more often than not, we too have needed that gentle support and assistance from other people in our lives. Nothing overbearing, just quiet and gentle reminders of our value and worth. As time passes, we grow strong and firm in the things that are important to us in our individual lives. 2 FAMILY: Each branch and leaf on the tree reminds me of a member of an ever expanding family. Each brings with it personality and characteristics-unique in everyway and dependent on the each other to grow strong and firm. Our families too are bound by this system. Despite the differences, there is strength which brings with it wonderful possibilities and opportunities that we can only imagine. 3 A SEASON FOR ALL THINGS: Each season passes and with it comes change in the trees appearance. We too have a seasons with which we learn, grow and blossom. While we may blossom at different times in whatever capacity-as an individual, family, physically, emotionally, spiritually, work, sport, culture etc....there is always a season for all things. A simple tree has taught me so much.....a constant reminder whenever I look at it. Georgie :D
