Remember this little girl....Utah was set to help but.....a local basset rescue stepped up.. they need help with donations. Update from my friend with Helping Hands rescue in Central Texas who went and got her today.......I picked Glory up today. Our vet gave us a treatment estimate of $930-$1130 depending on how many teeth have to extracted & how complicated the extractions are. The cost could go higher if more complications come up during the course of treatment. Besides being HW positive, ear infections, teeth & gum infections she has a heart murmur, her heart is enlarged slightly (which could both be due to the heart worms & the infections. Her ears are responding well to the treatment started at the shelter. Teeth cleaning is set for Monday. Her blood work looked good except that the white cell count was high probably due to the infections. She is being bathed & treated for fleas today. I will foster her. She will also start doxycycline today for 30 days before the first HW Treatment. The vet did say it was the worst dental case she has seen! Besides the tooth & gum She is a sweet, gentle old soul that made most of the 45 mile trip with her head on my shoulder.
