Remember when we reported about a child wondering the streets while mom was passed out? Deputies were called to the 500 block of Della Road about 1:30p.m. Tuesday to investigate, said Maj. Todd Noblitt, spokesman for the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department. Detectives entered the residence after attempting to make contact with someone inside the home, Noblitt said. Inside, they found five interior doors locked and walked around knocking on them, he said. Noblitt said Valena Michelle Martinez-Gonzalez, 34, came out of one of the locked rooms. When detectives questioned her about the child outside, she replied: “What child?” Deputies asked if there were any other children in the home, and Martinez-Gonzalez told them that there were not, Noblitt said.
