Remembering a wonderfully spirited lady, Zenia Marhefka. We miss you & your beautiful smile! Zenia M. Marhefka, age 91, of Geneva, passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at UH-Geneva Medical Center. She was born June 16, 1922, in Ashtabula, to John E. and Marie E. (Rinto) Ritonen. She graduated from Harbor High School in 1940. Having lived in Geneva 66 years, she worked as a clerk at Rees Drug Store, Geneva True Temper, as a hospital Candy-Striper and at Firestone in Ashtabula. As an active member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Zenia was in the choir, taught Sunday School and enjoyed playing the keyboard. She is survived by three sons, James (Wanda), Timothy (Sheila) and Joel (Friend, Janice Harchalk) Marhefka, all of Geneva; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Robert Marhefka of Geneva. She was preceded in death by her husband, John whom she married in 1946; her parents; a sister, Virginia Ritonen; and two brothers, John and Herman. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30th, at WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 828 Sherman St., Geneva, with the Rev. Jonathan Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula. Calling Hours will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29th, at the Funeral Home. Donations may be made to St. Johns Pre-School. Obituary and condolences at starbeacon.
