Reminder on being Grateful to Allaah for His blessings The Shaykh [Muhammad Ibn Ramzaan] (hafidhahullaah) began praising Allaah (subhana wa taala) by stating the Khutbatul Haajah which the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) used to begin his speeches with where he said: Verily, all praise is for Allaah, we praise Him and we seek His assistance and we ask for His forgiveness. And we seek refuge in Allaah from the evils of our selves and from the evils of our actions. Whoever Allaah guides, there is no one that can lead him astray, and whoever is led astray, there is no guide for him. I bear witness that there is no deity that has the right to be worshipped except Allaah - [alone and with no partner] - and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and messenger. The Shaykh (hafidhahullah) proceeded to thank Allaah (‘azz wa-jal) for blessing your companionship and allowing us to come together. Allaah (subhana wa ta’ala), has blessed the individual or his servants with countless blessings. The Shaykh (hafidhahullah) is reminding us of the Ayah, ...and if you count the Blessings of Allaah, never will you be able to count them... [Al-Quran, Surah Ibraheem (14:34)] For example health, - children, - offspring, - wife, - wealth, - stability, - security, and - peace of mind. All of these are blessings, and the greatest blessing that Allaah has made you from his servants that are Muslim; this is the greatest blessing. If the individual had all of the blessings but was prohibited or he didn’t have the blessing of Islaam and controversially if he lost or didn’t have all of the blessing but he had Islaam, the second person is better than the first. Because this person what he was denied is temporary and he will get that which he was denied when the time comes. So what about the individual who Allaah has blessed all of those things for example, health, stability, faith, being upright, having good companionship, and the clear Dawah to Salafiyyah or the invitation to Salafiyyah that is clear. And being upright upon the path of the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). What is passed you or what surpassed you from Dunya life is better than the life of kings. Because the kingship or the rule busies them or causes them to be busy. From those blessings that Allaah has given us are - the blessings of our bodies, - the faculty of seeing. And there are individuals who cannot see, they are blind. Thus you - should not look at the Haraam, - put your gaze or lower your gaze. There are those things that are beautiful and the self inclines to those things but what Allaah has is better. The individual who has left something for the sake of Allaah, Allaah gives him that which is better as reward for that which he left for the sake of Allaah. These desires or somebody if he does something out of his desires it doesn’t last more than 5 or 10 minutes; be patient, because what Allaah has is better. The person who leaves for the sake of Allaah; Allaah rewards him better than which he left. Hearing, the body parts, the limbs, all of these are blessings. The individual who looks at the Haraam, has he thanked Allaah for the faculty or for the blessing of being able to see. If we use those faculties that Allaah has blessed us with if we use them in that which is prohibited, have we thanked Allaah for those blessings? NO. The Shaykh says there is a gift, and the gift is the Hadeeth of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam), that is Duaa. The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said in the supplication if the individual wakes up and he says, O Allaah, whatever blessing has been received by me or anyone of Your creation is from You alone, You have no partner. All praise is for You and thanks is to You. [Collected by Imaam Abu Dawud, Imaam An-Nasaaee] The Shaykh re-read the Duaa and the person who says this Duaa has given the due praise for that day. The Shaykh (hafidhahullaahu ta’ala) said that Shaykh Al-Albaanee (rahimahullaahu ta’ala) graded this Hadeeth to be authentic and it is in the book Saheeh al-Jaamey. The Shaykh is saying small amount of words and the individual has by saying this Duaa has given the praise for that particular day. The Shaykh is saying that there is another action and it is thanking Allaah for what he has blessed you from these limbs, the faculties we have. Sulama in the Arabic language means Maafasil or joints, the human being has 360 joints. The Shaykh is saying that the individual, he must give Sadaqah for each joint on a daily basis. The Shaykh (hafidhahullaahu ta’ala) is reminding us that Tasbeeh - saying subhaanAllaah is Sadaqah, - saying Al-Hamdhulillaah is Sadaqah and - enjoining the good is Sadaqah; - forbidding the evil is Sadaqah and - what comprehends all of these Sadaqah - is if the individual prays two Raka’ah in Dhuha. It equals 360 charities, therefore he has given the charity for those joints. The Shaykh is saying do not be cheap or be stingy with yourselves. The Shaykh is saying the affair is not simply knowledge, rather the affair is acting upon knowledge. islaam.ae/
