Rep. Bennett Announces Support for Israel in Conflict against Hamas OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma state Rep. John Bennett (R-Sallisaw) has released the following statement about the situation in the Middle East involving Israel and Hamas: “Israel is one of the best and truest friends of the United States. Our two countries defend freedom and liberty against oppression and terror. Hamas’ assault on Israel is irresponsible and unfortunate. While they are recognized as the holders of political power in Gaza, they’re really a terrorist organization and you can see that in how they continue to harass and attack Israelis. “As a veteran of the War on Terror I absolutely understand the threat Israel wakes up each day facing. And as the chairman of the Counter Terrorism Caucus, I constantly keep up with the news on this issue. I fully support Israel’s decision to defend their nation and to take whatever steps are needed to protect its citizens.”
