Repeat offender... news10/story/23958833/ann-arnold-pleads-not-guilty-to-probation-violation Ann Arnold pleads not guilty to probation violation Updated: Nov 13, 2013 1:35 PM EST GREENFIELD, N.Y. -- A Greenfield woman accused of once again having horses on her property has entered a plea of not guilty to the alleged probation violation. Ann Arnold was sentenced in July 2012 to time served and received three years probation after she was convicted on 19 counts of Failure to Provide Proper Food, Water and Sustenance, and one count of Criminal Nuisance in the Second Degree. The judge issued a court order stating she could not have farm animals on her property after she was convicted of animal abuse. On Monday November 4, 2013, Saratoga County District Attorney James Murphy says his office received word that Arnold was in possession of between six to ten horses. Arnold was charged with violating her probation; specifically not notify probation of her change in address prior to moving, maintaining horses on her premises, and maintaining farm animals at her premises prior to restitution being paid in full. First Assistant District Attorney Karen A. Heggen asked that bail be set in the amount of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond because Arnold did not previously appear for a court appearance in a prior proceeding, and left the state contrary to the orders of the court. The judge, however, released Arnold on her own recognizance and advised Arnold of her Parker warnings which warn her that if she doesnt appear at all future scheduled court dates as ordered she can face jail time. Her attorney says that Arnold sold the property to her brother, and the horses are therefore on his property. A claim by Arnold that she no longer owns the property is merely a sham to try to end run the justice system. The probation orders indicate that horses cannot be on the premises, and makes no mention of the owner of the property. Therefore her claim that its her brothers property is of no consequence to this proceeding. Ms. Heggen has been diligent about following the law in this case step by step and will ensure that Arnold will do the same, said Murphy.
