The 26-year-old has been linked with Manchester United and Everton, as well as Serie A club Napoli, but the Reds have now reportedly thrown their hat into the ring. The paper suggests that Reds scouts were present for the Brazilians last game against Benfica and believe he was the main focus of their attention. His contract is up next summer and could provide a cut-price option as Rodgers looks to bolster the middle of his midfield. Another man who could do a job there is Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler.
