Republican rival calls Senator Lindsey Graham ‘ambiguously gay’ A Republican hopeful who wants to take Republican Senator Lindsey Graham’s senate seat from has labelled him ‘ambiguously gay’ in attacking his service to constituents 14 March 2014 | By Andrew Potts Photo by US Senate South Carolina Republican hopeful and former police officer Juan ‘Dave’ Feliciano has implied that senior Senate Republican Lindsey Graham is gay as part of his bid to replace Graham as the Republican candidate for his senate seat. Graham is only a two term senator for South Carolina and one of the more prominent faces of the Republican Party of the United States Congress but Feliciano believes South Carolinians deserve a better candidate next time around. ‘It’s about time that South Carolina [says], “Hey, we’re tired of the ambiguously gay senator from South Carolina. We’re ready for a new leader to merge the Republican Party,”’ Feliciano said. Feliciano is one of four South Carolina Republicans running against Graham in Republican senate primaries and all four have pledged to endorse whichever of them performs best against Graham. ‘We’re done with this,’ Feliciano said. ‘This is what it’s about, all of us coming together and saying, one way or the other, one of us is going to be on that ballot in November.’ Graham is often parodied on the Daily Show by host John Stewart who does an impression of Graham as an old fashioned Southern Bell. He is childless and has never married but has denied that he is gay whenever people have speculated about it. Watch John Stewart’s impression of Graham Bradshaw below
