Rescued~The Trailer Ride Backing the trailer to the loading chute, the elder sister waited for them to bring the filly up. She opened the door to the trailer, while she locked the side gates. Her sister had gotten out too. She wanted to see the filly get in as well. Both girls watched as two of the hired hands, started pushing the baby from behind. With whatever strength the baby had found, she trotted down the aisle toward the trailer. The filly’s head raised, eyes full of fear, she still leapt into the trailer, to get away from the men. The other hired hand, grabbed the door to the trailer and closed it. “We leave her loose in there?” The oldest sister asked. “Yep, she’ll settle down.” The older hired hand nodded to both young girls. “Once you get her home, unload her where you’ll be able to work with her.” With that he and the other guy took off back down the aisle to get the next buyer’s animal. Both girls, couldn’t help but smile. They knew they had done something good. Now though they weren’t sure how to deal with what they had just purchased. On the way home both girls, were silently thinking of what they needed to do. Both knew that the dairy goat at home would have enough milk for the filly just as she had enough for her kids. So they didn’t think that they would need anything else. “Where are we going to put her?” The younger sister asked. “Not sure” answered the older one. “You think mom is going to help us?” again the younger one questioned. “Yep, her and horses are like bees and honey.” “How are we going to feed her?” “With a bottle is my guess.” “Do you think she will drink it from us?” “I have a better question…When will you shut up?” Exasperated with her younger sibling, she focused on the rest of the drive and home.
