Researchers into slave and/or slave owners ancestry-- dont forget Barbados, which was important in Native American, Irish and African slave trade. Also, many plantation owners in SC migrated to the Southeast from Barbados, and as plantation/slave owners here some of them were highly active in slave trade as well -- and impacted strongly on politics in the colonies/states where they came to live -- particularly in SC.
