Results and Fixtures from last weekend as follows…..(Thanks to Alan and Pat for their updates). Saints had a great start to this Year’s League with 4.1 win against Cashel Town FC played before a sizeable crowd at Cooke Park, last Friday night. Goal scorers James Walsh, Darren Lynch, John O Brien and Shane McGrath. Unfortunately, our Youth Team lost 3.1 to Twomileborris on Saturday. This is a young team in transition so hopefully things will get better for them this year. This weekend sees our 2nd Team start off their Campaign in the Shield Cup with a home tie against Redmondstown this Sunday, Sept 1st with KO time of 12 Noon. Good luck to the Lads. Our Youth team are away to Cashel Town FC with a KO time of 2.30PM this Saturday August 31st. Saints 1st Team are away to Cahir Park FC on Sunday September 1st next with KO time of 3 PM…. All support for the above games would be most appreciated. It was great to see good support for Saints 1st team game of the season last Friday night. We know that people like coming to night games so hopefully it continues. Good Luck to our very own Jimmy Carr who had a knee operation and is currently on the mend. We are all looking forward to seeing you back on the playing field soon. Good Luck to Mark Hoban who had joined Limerick FC – a regular player with Republic of Ireland U16 side who came through the ranks of St. Michaels Schoolboys and had made the break through to the Saints 1st team towards the end of last season. Also congratulations to James Walsh, Paul Breen and Chris Higgins who again made the final panel of the Junior International Ireland Team who play the weekend of October 3rd to 5th next in Limerick. Good luck lads for this very important competition. For a full result preview of all above games, please visit our website, stmichaelsfc.... for all news and fixtures, and results......
