Results are in for Heat 1 of Lighty Tonightys $1000 SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DJ! Stellar performances from all involved, and it was a tough decision that came down to a very small margin. A reminder for all competitors that performances are rated out of 5 in the following categories: - Skill - Songs - Style - Crowd - Party Atmosphere In 3rd place, with a total score of 16.50 we have Zodiac. Following after the crowd of the previous performer was always going to be difficult, but Zodiac did well and displayed some great skill to hold the crowd around. Unfortunately he lost the crowd a bit towards the end, but we let him play an extended set to close out the Skyy Bar as we were really enjoying his beats. In 2nd place we have Elizabeth Young with a score of 17.25. Unfortunately she was plagued by some technical difficulties which hurt her score, but the crowd and party atmosphere were second to none which scored her big points. And our winner of Heat 1, advancing to the finals of the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DJ Competition @ The Lighty! on October 8 is the duo Musique De Merde with a score of 17.50! Playing to the opening crowd was always going to be difficult but these guys had the dance floor packed for the end of their set. Good tune selection, particularly their last track and the skill these guys bought them a place in the $1000 grand final! Next Wednesday at PINK FEST @ Lighthouse we have Heat 2 in the Skyy Bar, featuring Ashy, Double Agent and Sean Towler from 11pm. See you at the Lighty!
