Rethink Iran: Homeland is Based off an Israeli Drama Propaganda - TopicsExpress

Rethink Iran: Homeland is Based off an Israeli Drama Propaganda Series and Promotes Iranophobia One of the greatest personal joys Ive felt in a while was when seven nations of the most powerful nations in the world, China, Russia, England, Germany, France, America, and Iran, got together and decided to sit at a table to put an end to the decades long Israeli borne Iran threat hoax and charade that is nothing more than a Saddam Hussein has WMDs redux. Why? Because it ruined Season 4 of Homeland, a disturbing propaganda series that is promoted endlessly by a private media that stops at nothing to demonize and stigmatize Iranians by whatever means necessary. Whether through Argo, 300 (I and II), Shahs of Sunset, the upcoming, Rosewater (by Maziar Bahari and Jon Stewart), Persepolis, Not Without My Daughter, or other endless propagandist references to Iran and Iranians, the programming of general audiences is meant to do one thing: dehumanize Iranians and make them seem different. Or when showing similarities, to divide Iranians among themselves in order to have them do again what theyve been best at doing: unseating their government, which currently happens to be their last line of defense against the, lets be frank, wolves. Iranians are an idealistic people and probably some of the most well-meaning in the world. But, Iranians are also pliable for foreign meddling purposes for this very reason. We are a fiery bunch who will run into the streets when we think our rights are taken from us. Thus, another important note: Iranians are able to take care of themselves. That is, Iranians should be left to determine their own futures without the outside commentary or criticism that is really meant to advance a political agenda. Homeland perpetuates the mythology that Iran has anything to do with terrorism or Al Qaeda-like caricatures of the Middle East. The main villain, Abu Nazir, is a shadowy Iranian figure, while the main heroes work hand in hand with Israeli intelligence. This is virtually an inverse of the truth at hand: US military and intelligence personnel have never classified Israel as an ally, and today, according to Newsweeks expose by Jeff Stein featuring Edward Snowden and leaked NSA documents, consider Israel to, indeed, be a top spy threat to the US. Not long ago, General Petraeus delivered a 45 minute Powerpoint presentation to US Central Command on how Israels actions were a liability to US assets and interests. All that said, Homeland, like all propaganda, has entertainment value to those who are unaware of the realities because otherwise it would not be effective propaganda. Unfortunately, Iranians experience stigmatization as a result of the shows popularity, boosted often by a monopolized media circus of biased critics and commentators. (NIK)
