Returned from Northside of Fredericton where they havent had - TopicsExpress

Returned from Northside of Fredericton where they havent had power since early morning Saturday. So no traffic lights, no gas stations, no Tims and everyone trying to find a place to fill up their propane tanks. Since they seldom lose power there, most were unprepared for the damage left in the wake of Arthur. We saw so many downed trees and several homes where the masts were torn right off the houses. Some houses with damaged roofs and tree branches strewn all over the roads. The sound of chainsaws filled the air today. All the way home, straight through Oromocto, Gagetown & Geary, There were downed trees and no power. We never saw one NB Power truck on the road, anywhere, nor any police directing traffic. People, however were very accomodating in taking turns at intersections. I hope Fredericton has its power restored before the night comes. One good thing is the temperature is bearable and they dont have to rely on air conditioning to survive. Hoping my family in Freddy has a good night and even better Monday morning. You guys can always come to Black River for cool temps and plenty of electricity ;)
