The truth has been hidden in the greed of others, and film studios ownership of her image. Nancy gives us the other side of the picture and provides history to settle the issue once and for all. Marilyn is smiling in her grave, knowing that the book has been published and part of the collection in the Library of Congress. Haters will hate, Marilyn historians will refuse to believe because they didnt know the real story, and the rest of us will smile, knowing her presence is still with us. Thank you Nancy, you can now settle down and stop defending yourself. Your story is public for the ones who want to know the story. Well written and a good read. In my opinion, the story is very credible, in light of how Hollywood stars were manufactured and exploited during that time. This story portrays the tragedy of Marilyns life! One can only feel empathy for Marilyn, her family and mostly, her secret daughter. Additionally, it is understandable how difficult it would be for her daughter to break the myth of this infamous star and how the impact of this secret would be perceived in Hollywood history. Imagine, it was all a lie! The book is worth the read! Dan User Review - Flag as inappropriate Mar 11, 2013 Sam Perri rated it 5 of 5 stars The biography of Marilyn Monroe fifty years after Usually biographies follow a rather predictable if boring literary format. The facts are presented in strict chronological order and the reader then is supposed to realize why that person has earned a special place in history. However this new biography of Marilyn Monroe immediately shocks us because it uses a free flowing stream of consciousness language presented in two plays and a narrative. From the refreshing stunning cover shot of a Marilyn-image i dont recall ever seeing before to the revealing expose on its pages within, FROM SARDIS TO SICILY kept me fascinated as all the new details surfaced which weve never heard before in the other typical Marilyn Monroe/Norma Jean Baker bios out there. Instantly it becomes obvious that this new biography of Marilyn is in a class of its own and is written in an engaging artistic way thats presented from the start in an interview-style that i thoroughly enjoyed, continuing in the authors multi-creative narrative. Marilyn Monroe/Norma Jean Baker remains one of the most famous icons/artists/actors in the history of mankind, and i would certainly recommend taking a walk down a memory lane of Marilyn that only her daughter could know. Unfortunately, Corruption and Greed have been protecting all the astounding lies that have been told/sold for decades, but 50 years after her death the real story finally emerges better-late-than-never...as a Marilyn Monroe fan i could never be satisfied with the cooked-up malarky created by the studio vultures revealed within and always suspected there was more to Marilyns story ...and here it is !
