Right... Friday Fracas... Im wanting an intelligent debate today... And the topic is... Pendle Council. Do Pendle Council do enough to earn their council tax? Are we as citizens of the borough satisfied with the public services they offer? Do we think that theres sufficient facilities for everyone here? The largest amount of people in Pendle from one single town thats paying council tax is Nelson... Yet the town doesnt seem to offer that many events and benefits to the people of the town... (Apart from wrapping the huge shuttle in a blanket to mimic a candle?!?) What could they do to improve the amount of people who use town centres and parks? Have the parking enforcers ruined people using Nelson retail shops? Or is it that The council ignored advice from Mary Portas? Should they entice retailers with discounted rent? We have so much to offer and theres no tourism industry or hotels... People look at the empty homes and dont want to start a business here... The majority of retailers here are currently looking to move elsewhere and that will be sad... Do you care about this community? Do you want local businesses to thrive? Do you want to setup your own business? Let this be the most informative status youll read this Friday... Ask questions... Get involved, especially if you have children growing up here...
