Right, it seems a group, including myself, will be trekking the Royal Skyline in the first days of 2015. If you are interested message me or Manoj at your earliest, thanks. Parece que un grupo, incluido yo, estara andandose el sendero real en los primeros dias del 2015. Si os apetece, mandarnos un mensaje a mi o a Manoj. Gracias. Those looking for a short, easy experience trekking can add the royalty feeling by taking the Annapurna Skyline Trek, also known as The Royal Trek since Prince Charles walked it in the 1980s. This short trek near Pokhara, the adventure capital of Nepal is ideal for people with a short time and seeking an authentic rural experience with Himalayan views. This trek passes through beautiful villages, forests, terraced farmlands and lakes. The skyline trek is quite popular for family trekkers with small children and elderly people. This pleasant trek starts outside of Pokhara at Bengas lake. The trek generally takes 4 to 5 days. It is however a lovely walk and not strenuous (highest at 1700m). The trek finishes 5 km away from the main town of Pokhara where transport is ready to transfer you to your hotel. The region is so unspoiled that there are no proper hotels along the route, you will need to camp. There are many tea stalls along the way that sell fast-food noodles, biscuits, sweets etc. But bring anything you may need. The Royal trek offers panoramic views view of Pokhara Valley and the beautiful Mt Fishtail (Machhapuchre) as well as Annapurna range to the north and magnificent lakes surrounded by mountains in the south, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu and Himchuli in the east. Itinerary: Kathmandu-Pokahra-Bijayapur Khola-Kalikasthan-Syaklung-Lipyeni-Chisapani-Begnas Bazar-Pokahra-Kathmandu.
