Robbery On Tuesday September 9, 2014 at 10:40PM, six students reported that they were walking on Broad Street outside Xavier Hall when an African American male approached them and grabbed one of them by the wrist. The suspect then displayed an approximate 4” knife and demanded their valuables. Two of the students immediately dropped their valuables. The suspect then grabbed a cell phone, wallet and portable speaker and fled the scene in a westerly direction away from campus. The Providence Police Department is investigating this incident None of the students were injured in the incident. Suspect Description: The suspect is described as an African American male, stocky build, approximately 5’7”-5”10” tall, approximately 50 years of age with a goatee and missing front tooth. The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with an “I Love New York” logo and red shorts. Crime Prevention Tips: Conceal your valuables and think safety and security first at all times. Keep your distance from anyone who triggers suspicion in your mind. Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious subjects to security/police.
