Robert Bob Wade, Jr., 84, of Carmi, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 8:58 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL He was born May 16, 1930 in Eldorado, IL, the son of Robert Bruce and Dimple (Fulkerson) Wade. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a lifetime member of the Carmi VFW, a member of the American Legion Post # 224 and the Elks Lodge. He loved farming, spending time with his family and enjoying the simple things in life. Bob is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Paul Carlson of Genoa, IL; four grandchildren, Michelle (Josh) Plonk, Jeff (Amber) Carlson, Dan (Lisa) Carlson and Brett (Karis) Carlson; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vivian Williams of Carmi and Modell Leathers of Bedford, TX; and close companion, Brenda Patton of Carmi. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dixie Ackerman. Funeral services for Robert Bob Wade, Jr., 84, of Carmi, will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Jeff Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery near Harrisburg with military rites by Carmi VFW and American Legion. Friends may call on Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 215 Stearn Dr., Genoa, IL 60135.
