Robin Ashby Dear Mr Ashby, My mum wont let me have Facebook (smart woman or you would have a LOT of these letters) but she did let me borrow her Facebook for this particular one. So, hello, my name is Anna Robinson and I am 14 years, 8 months and 11 days old (work that one out). I live on Halton Way in Melbury. Let me start with some news. Recently, my family got a dog! Little black lab called Oscar and he is only 12 weeks old (insert aww here). As you may be aware Mr Ashby, puppies are only meant to go for short walks when they are young otherwise they would conk out on the pavement (worrying, I know). On the night in question (you can tell I am a lawyers daughter), at approximately 9:30pm, Oscar and I were strolling along when, alas! he did a poo. After bagging up the faeces as all good dog owners do, I went in search of a bin after deciding that home was too far away to turn back around and deposit the poo and then restarting the walk because Oscar would be confused (its bad enough hes scared of cars). After searching high and low for a bin and not finding one, I decided it would be best to carry Oscar home and drop the poo there. This was after I had nearly lost the poor mite when he ran away from a car and had to listen to him crying (which is not a pleasant sound). The moral Robin (if I may be so presumptuous) of this story is that WE NEED MORE BINS. I am aware that the estate is not adopted, unlike our sister estate Warkworth Woods, but I am sure the council could spare a little money for a bin, given the huge amount of council tax that the residents of Melbury pay per year. I understand that certain members of the council look upon the sums contributed by the Great Park as a veritable cash cow. If you could pass on to your friends at the Civic Centre that this is not very nice, maybe something could be done because there is a lot of dog waste on the streets which could lead to children going blind. Is this what you want for your area, Robin? There are 347 members of this page, including you, who I am sure would agree with me. Yours, Anna.
