Romans 12:10-16 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Are you loving God’s people as He instructed us to do? Christians should be the most hospitable people on the face of the earth! But yet we still form cliques and alienate other brothers and sisters in Christ. Be careful saints! God holds us accountable for His word and how we treat each other. How can we call ourselves Christians if we only entertain the people we know? The Bible tells us in verse 13, we must make strangers feel accepted and wanted in our presence. This is a sacred duty as our hospitality can bring someone towards Christ or move them further away from God and His church. Remember in Psalms 1, it says we are blessed when we do not stand in the way of a sinner; that doesn’t mean not being in their company but not being the one to drive them away from the house of the Lord. Woe be unto us if we contribute to pushing someone out of God’s presence! Let us strive to lovers of God’s people and lovers of their potential. This is what makes us one body with one purpose, which is to love and minister to the lost. Be blessed because you love friends and visitors! Remember at one point you were them.
