Ronnie had to leave this morning to go back to work so I suppose I need to continue with updates on momma. I know he is going to miss sleeping in chair #20- second floor, CCU. Her white blood cell count has continued to rise so they did a ct scan on her stomach to see if she had an abscess by chance. The scan did not show an abscess but it did show some fluid on her left lung. Her pulmonary doctor thought that might be a contributing factor for not being able to ween her from the ventilator. They are in the process of doing a bronchoscopy to remove the fluid. After that procedure, if they are still unable to ween her, they are going to have to do a tracheotomy. They are also a bit concerned she could possibly have some brain damage from last Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. The doctor said there shouldnt be because there was only a very short period before being resuscitated. Please continue to pray for her. She is a very tough lady and she has been through it.
