Ruby Phillips (July 30, 1930 - June 4, 2009) Mrs. Ruby Rittenberry Phillips, Age 78 of Grant, TN., died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Phillips was born July 29, 1930 in Buffalo Valley, TN., the daughter of the late Ellen Eurleane Whitehead and William Deward Rittenberry. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Joyce Sidney Rittenberry, John Bell Rittenberry, Evelyon Downs; Carlos Euwelle Jackson. She was married to Tildon Leo Phillips on June 23, 1945 and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1996. A son, Howard Phillips and a daughter, Donna Jean Phillips preceded her in death. She was a member of Grant Missionary Baptist Church and Living Water Ministries of Gordonsville. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her Children: Harold (Mary) Phillips of Brush Creek, TN; Jerry (Carol) Phillips of Lebanon, TN; Sue (Robert) Brindley of Gordonsville, TN; Mike (Dorene) Phillips of Lebanon, TN; Mark Phillips of Gordonsville, TN; and David Phillips of Gordonsville, TN. Grandchildren: Bill (Dorothy) Bates; Greg (Kristy) Brindley; Jerry (Bobbie) Phillips, Jr.; Terrence “T.J.” (Tammy) Phillips; Ashley Phillips andDustin Firth; Lindsay Phillips and Trey Walker; Andy Phillips and Katy Phillips; Brian Phillips and Heather Phillips; Bud Phillips; Lane Phillips and Tyler Barr; Michelle Nelles and Sandra Phillips Driver. Great Grandchildren: Hailey, Logan and Adrianna Brindley; Kelsey, Cody and Conner Bates; Brittany, Jasmine and Josh Phillips; Katelyn, Jaylan and Calab Phillips; Ashton and Sabastion Phillips; Abby, Joey, Olivia, Christina and Dustin Phillips; Dekota Allen and Marley Jones; Jay, Jason, Austin and Micheal Nelles.Brothers and Sisters: Helen Rittenberry Leazenby of Logansport, IN.; Reba Shoemake of Gordonsville, TN.; Frances Craigmile of Georgia; Paul Jackson of Flatt Rock Community; Joyce Bogle of Smithville, TN and Mildred Allen of Logansport, IN. Aunt, Vera Whitehead Jackson of Evansville, IN. Many Nieces, Nephews and Great Nieces and Great Nephews. Mrs. Phillips remains are at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes where Services will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 2:00 P.M., with Bro. Scott Turner, officiating. Interment will follow in Gordonsville Cemetery. The Phillips family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Sunday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
