Ruby-throated Hummingbird migration nearing its peak now, with 23 zooming by the watch on their way to Mexico or Central America yesterday and 16 today (Sept. 4). And for the raptors: finally two straight days of double digit migrant totals. 16 individuals of 9 species today, including 2 Bald Eagles, and 1 each of all 3 falcon species. The tiny trickle of migrating raptors swells to a trickle that is slightly less tiny! But they have to go south sometime; and they will. This right here is the lull before the Broadwing storm…
