Run Report – 10 January 2015 Happy 3rd Birthday, St Albans parkrun! It was a wet and windy morning for the 158th St Albans parkrun. There were 325 runners, including 43 First Timers and 26 New PBs. 61 runners belonged to one of the 20 clubs represented. Thank you to this week’s volunteers for braving the weather and making this event happen: Stephen Buckle (Marshal), Alec Campbell (Barcode Scanning), Andrew Coles (Number Checker and New Runners Briefing), Sharon Davidson (Timekeeper), Richard Derrick (Marshal), Matthew Hunt (Marshal), Duncan Melsom (Barcode Scanning), Joaquin Orejas (Marshal), Richard Ruffell (Barcode Scanning), Colin Singleton (Finish Tokens), Stuart Smith (Marshal), Kate Tettmar (Run Director), James Thompson (Marshal), James Nicholas Thomson (Backup Timer), Richard Todd (Marshal), Richard Underwood (Finish Token Support), and Andrew van Heiningen (Volunteer Co-ordinator). Congratulations to Fergus Watson (PB 22:42) who completed his 10th parkrun this week. Martin Steels (PB 19:51), Chris Atkins (PB 19:54), Andy Whitfield (PB 18:35), and Charles Cliffe (PB 22:17) all completed their 50th parkruns this week, joining the 50 Club. Chris Beard was the most seasoned parkrunner at this week’s event, completing 237 parkruns to date. This week’s first finishers were: 1. James Elson, 17:53, New PB! 2. Mark Castleton, 18:23, St Albans Striders 3. Andrew Holt, 19:01, Garden City Runners The first female finishers were: 1. Jenny Maddocks, 20:32, St Albans Striders 2. Amy Lam, 20:46 3. Rebecca Jakeman, 21:04, Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC Andrew Holt (VM50-54; 77.56%) was the only finisher earning an Age Grade Score over 75% this week.
