Rushton’s have been in Darwen for over 50 years and is now owned by Verity and Dean who are carrying on the tradition. Their logo gives away that they are famous for their quality bacon and sausage. Their bacon is dry-cured whole and sliced just the way you want it on the bacon slicer which is also a piece of local history! Many people travel from other parts of the country to purchase this specialist bacon, ordered to their own requirements. The sausages are made in Lancashire to a unique recipe, so you simply can’t buy these anywhere else. The rest of the stall is stuffed full of fresh produce all sourced from local suppliers. A large range of savoury pies including steak & kidney, potato & meat, minced beef, steak & onion, cheese & onion, plate meat and pork & beef pies. They also sell Bolton’s famous Carr’s pasties and steak puddings. The fruit pies are packed with delicious fruit fillings and the whinberry pies are a real treat that is hard to find anywhere else. Selling a range of Sanderson’s Bakery products too. Rushton’s also sell cheese, cooked meats, eggs (including duck), chutneys, preserves and Bury black pudding. People travel miles to buy from Rushton’s and once you visit you will understand why.
