Russell Brand, speaking the truth - the meaningful difference between Republicans and Democrats comes down to reproductive rights and marriage equality. But what about all the rest of it? The American public is still entirely disempowered, still fighting a losing battle on the economic front, still silenced when it comes to military engagements overseas, still under the oppression of the security state... Im with Russell Brand when he says Im not satisfied with little crumbs, and why should we be? What do we pay taxes for, anyway?? I too, want my power as a citizen back. We should all be fully empowered as tax-paying citizens. Every single member of Congress and the Senate has 100%, 360° health coverage that is paid for by the government. Medicare for all. What do they offer to us? Nothing - they just sit and grin among themselves every time the debate arises. Those in the military and government should represent US, not the corporations and obscenely wealthy interests, to fear US and face genuine, serious consequences for deceiving the public, harming the public commons and breaking the law. If they have nothing to hide, they have nothing to fear.
