Ryan Christie I think people oversimplify the first world war - TopicsExpress

Ryan Christie I think people oversimplify the first world war when they say it started from the Archdukes assassination. I mean if you think about it there was tension between the Germans and the French post Franco-Prussian war, you have the recently industrialized global super-powers merging post 2nd-industrial revolution, you had monarchs (like the German monarchies) since the 14th century, you had rulers like Polish king Cashimir the 3rd (1333) who tried to negotiate land rights with the Teutonic Knights peacefully unlike his father... and then you had people like King Fredick/Napoleon/etc. You have the Russo-Japanese war which was fought over a dry port by which the Russians were losing BADLY and the repeated loses coupled with Russias extreme poverty lead to the 1917 Bolshevik uprising (October Revolution.) You had the German 1848 Workers class uprising that was supposed to be designed as a negotiating table between the Monarchy and the workers... but it failed. People were getting desperate, the monarchies had too much control, the workers class was getting fed up, there was tensions between multiple parties with weird alliances, and worst of all you had military contractors with EFFICIENT MEANS OF KILLING OTHER PEOPLE. To this day we still deal with the first world war when it comes to the Kurds, Sunnis, Shites in the middle east and how poorly we split up their ottoman empire... not to mention the whole deal with Israel which was poorly handled and executed. I believe people really need to get to THE ROOTS of the First world war... this stuff in my opinion is way oversimplified.
