SACCORD Notes Indaba Fears The Southern African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) say they have noted concerns that the proposed indaba on the constitution may not yield desired results but will give the idea a chance. SACCORD Executive Director Boniface Chembe said the organization was only providing an opportunity for dialogue and hoping a solution could be found on the constitution making process impasse. Chembe said the fact that government and opposition political parties had indicated they will participate is a positive step. He said there was no need for shadow boxing when people could sit together and iron out the sticky points on the constitution making process. While opposition political parties had written to President Sata to convene the indaba, the PF government will be represented Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba. Sixteen opposition political parties had written to President to convene a meeting over the stalled constitution making process. President who before assuming office was a strong advocate of the constitution and even promised to deliver it within 90 days of being in power had shockingly turned around often pouring scorn on those that reminded him of his promise. He recently called advocates of the constitution as yapping and that they should be ignored. zambiareports/2014/04/24/saccorf-notes-indaba-fears/
