SAE International 2013 Electric Powertrain Technologies Symposium Slated for Stuttgart, Germany WARRENDALE, PA (Aug. 20, 2013) – Stuttgart, Germany, will be the site of SAE International’s 2013 Electric Powertrain Technologies Symposium, scheduled for Nov 20, 2013. Due to the ever broadening challenges in the development and application of electric powertrain technologies, this year’s symposium will evolve to incorporate more of the components that comprise the powertrain and driveline of electric vehicles. In addition to topics involving the electric traction motor and its components, the symposium will be emphasizing several technology topics as well. Experts in the industry from brand names such as Ford Motor Company, General Motors Company, BMW, Siemens Corporation, and many others, will be leading several topics of discussion in this daylong symposium. These leaders will speak to the possibilities of building better platform concepts for hybrid powertrain technology and hardware, as well as how hybrid powertrains could decrease battery requirements while we wait for the price of batteries to go down. Industry leaders will also be planning for the use of adaptive controls in hope for a better future in decentralized function control. Finally, attendees will theorize on the 48-volt technology and micro-hybrids and why they will be the best solutions for hybrid electric architectures.
