SANTA MONICA PET MEDICAL CENTER image 1 EXCELLENT full time position for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our busy veterinary hospital in Santa Monica. We are family owned and operated and have been in our current location for over 30 years. We are looking for someone to join our 5 doctor staff who is friendly and wants to be part of a team. Our hospital is fast paced and has interesting and diverse cases. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Proficiency in all aspects of receptionist skills (handling phone calls, answering questions, updating files, filling pharmacies, working with clients, technicians and doctors, chart prep and maintenance, estimate generation etc.) required. Exceptional patient care & client communication skills are a must. JOB SUMMARY: This job entails not only general veterinary reception duties but dealing with the public on a daily basis. Additionally, it is essential to be able to speak knowledgeably to clients about responsible animal ownership as well as surgical procedures, vaccine protocols, other protocols and animal education issues. At all times, this position requires the receptionist to provide quality service to clients, patients and staff and to represent our hospital in a courteous and professional manner. Furthermore, it is crucial to maintain a positive and constructive attitude and to generate ideas to further the vision, mission and goals of our hospital. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT This position is full time. This position requires a 4 day work week with 10 hour shifts. Candidates for this position must be able to be at the clinic between 7am and 8pm, depending on the day. Saturdays and Sundays are required. Additionally, candidates must be willing to occasionally cover shifts for absent co-workers.
