SATURDAY 13th SEPTEMBER 1997: It was Rachel and Jolys birthday today. As soon as we opened the shop, Joly played Celebration - whilst a queue of Diana mourners gathered to queue to buy the Elton single out today. It was crazy. We had a queue from the till, out of the shop door, around the corner to BhS!! The Stimulator flyers were *finally* done - but they dont say Roadmender on them, or have a Stimulator face on John Cravens jumper... On the way to Jolys after work, I bought her birthday card. A Happy Hefalumps Big Codpiece card. Joly laughed when I gave it to her and introduced me to housemate Lisa. Whilst Joly showered, me and Lisa sat in front of Brookside and spoke about work/education orientated things. Jolys shower isnt filtering, so we emptied it out and I had a shower and a poo (which seems to be tradition at her house). Joly changed into some dress which wouldnt even only just hide her shame. This was coupled with thigh high boots. We walked to Smithys Palace. Some guy said to Joly: Why dont you just get your fanny out? Smithys is lovely. All new, deep reds and brass, high ceilings, but an air of tradition with photos and other gubbins. Some old bloke eyed Jolys legs. Sarah told me of how shes seeing Neeson and hes dumping his girlfriend for her. I do think Sarah seems a bit of a temptress. We went and sat upstairs and there was a lovely view from the window of traffic, lights and sky. Wendy told me of how she and Phil had got it together there. Aww! I thought that was dead romantic. I left for the train station and bumped into Freaky Phil!! Hello!! Hes off to London Guildhall uni. Hes got a place in Whitechapel he hasnt seen yet but its supposedly ruff up n ting. He admitted he doesnt go to Wednesdays anymore as it had run its course. Dad took me home and I played Change Giver whilst getting ready to go to Gareths party. I showed Mum Jolys xxx rated birthday card and she was shocked/laughing. I told Mum more about Kev giving me the horn and that Id kissed him. For Gods sake, Neil Mum whined, which I was quite surprised to hear her say. Anyway, I was off! Once at the party, I immediately noticed Jess was there - hooray! Freak Alex had had his hair cut - it looks cool. I spoke with Kylie who was apparently drunk for the first time in three months! I told her how I was still unsure of Jess. She assured me there was nothing to worry about. I sat outside but it was cold so I didnt stay out for long. Jess and Daniella were talking of hate in families generally but me and Jess did do cartwheels. It was off to M&W for me, Ross, Emily, old art bloke and Graham. They let us buy but then at 11pm said she could serve us no more. Back at the house, a load of us sat in the kitchen talking. Eventually, me and Jess were left alone and we had a snog. She got dizzy! Shed been drinking and was staying over you see. Next up was the pool room. Me and Jess had a game and I mucked about on the piano, learning the first few bits of Light My Fire. Then, with a guitar, Nick and me attempted to play Theres No Other Way. Hmm... Back in the kitchen situation, it was me, Jess and Daniella. Daniella talked of how she thought Jennifer Anniston was the perfect looking woman and asked who I thought was out of the blokes. Of course, Rick Witter was the answer. Me and Jess were all of a sudden in the fridge, trying some dodgy cream cake! Crazy parties! Its like Gatsby all over again! At another point, I contributed a quid to some pizza which me, the two Alexs, old bloke and Nick ate in the bathroom, locking others out! The bath looked stained with poo but it was only Gareths hair dye. The girls had dyed his hair black. Next up, Mondays people arrived in the form of Nick, Ryan, Doug, Ed, Kelly, Andy, Gareth, Jaime, Jo and Lucy Tarbox. By this time, me and Jess were quite cuddly and hand holding on the carpet. Jaime had had her hair cut! She told me Katherine had gone off with Glenn and Jo had had some jubba argument bust up with her for it. As me and Jess smooched by the real fire, Alex came over and, along with telling others, encouraged us to get rockin as it was Gareths party and everyone was sitting in their groups whilst Jo and Lucy lemoned out EVERYWHERE. It doesnt bother me but they did look skanky together... Meanwhile, I was concerned that mine and Jess hair was gonna set on fire, lying so close to the fire. Duran Duran came on the hi-fi... More pool antics followed. Then me and Jess lay together on the sofa and she fell asleep in my arms. Aww!! But only for ten minutes, as some bizarre guitar workout from Garage Flower was out and everybody was shouting and pretending to smash up guitars and stuff. Until one was... Then Daniella put on some love album and we (me, Jess, Jaime, Daniella and Ryan (who was silent throughout)) flicked through tracks. The Power Of Love (Frankie), as well as Jennifer Rushs, plus Dont Know Much and Move Closer were my favourites. Jaime and Jo did karate dances (Jo with her tie round her head) to Glory Of Love which was funny. I did No Mercy dances with the guitar to Anything For You and Dont Know Much - the latter with Jaime. I then got really tired and was gonna go up to bed. I asked Jess if she was coming up - which I shouldnt have done. She said she was staying down but didnt appear to take my request to heart. I wasnt asking suggestively, but she wont know that. I fell asleep in a bed in the spare room. Jaime did in the other bed, complaining about Jo until I fell asleep.
